    Penn Highlands offers admissions to all students with a completed high school diploma or GED, including transfer students. Credits transfer in depending on program requirements, grades, courses taken, and accreditation of sending college/university.

  • Degree Completion Programs:
    The Entrepreneurship, AAS degree program enables students to transfer credit from previous training, such as a CTC, apprenticeship, or industry certification toward the completion of an associate degree.
  • Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
    Penn Highlands awards credit for previously completed CTC programs, industry certifications, and job experience through our Credit for Life Experience process.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Penn Highlands awards credit for prior learning and work experience through our Credit for Life Experience process. Contact our Admissions Office to learn more.

    Official transcripts from high school and all colleges previously attended are required prior to admission.

    While SAT/ACT scores are not required for admission, they can be used to help determine the correct placement into college level English and mathematics classes.

Transfer Credit Policy

    Grades of C or higher from accredited institutions will transfer when an equivalent course is required in the student's program of study.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Up to 1/2 (50%) of a student's program requirements (in credits) may be met through transfer work. At least 1/2 (50%) of a student's program requirements (in credits) must be met as Pennsylvania Highlands Community College local credit.
