This course introduces students to innovative research methodologies that bridge artistic practice, design thinking, art historical inquiry, and curatorial studies. Emphasizing interdisciplinary and process-based approaches, students will explore how research informs creative work, exhibition-making, and scholarly analysis. Through hands-on projects, readings, and discussions, students will engage with a range of methodologies, including visual analysis, material culture studies, ethnography, participatory research, and archival exploration. The course will also examine decolonial, feminist, and experimental research strategies that challenge traditional knowledge production. By the end of the semester, students will develop their own creative research projects, applying diverse methodologies to deepen their artistic, curatorial, and scholarly practices.
