    Provides students with the opportunity to obtain Commercial Driver???s License (CDL) Class A license. This training covers federal regulations, compliance and safety. Students demonstrate their skills in Pre-Trip Inspection with Air-Brake and Driving as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration???s (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training Regulations. Once proficiencies are submitted to FMCSA, the student will be scheduled for the exam. Prerequisites: must be 18 years of age or older; possess a DOT Medical Examiner certificate; obtain a Class A Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) with General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle and Air Brakes endorsements; pass a regulated drug screen AFTER obtaining a CLP; successfully complete an approved Class A CDL Theory Course (as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Administration???s Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Regulation) and be registered on the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry.

    Provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate skills in the areas of Pre-Trip Inspection, Backing (Behind-the- Wheel Range) and Driving (Behind-the-Wheel Road) as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration???s Entry-Level Driving Training Regulation to obtain their Class B Commercial Driver???s License (CDL) Prerequisites: must be 18 years of age or older; possess a DOT Medical Examiner certificate; obtain a Class B Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) with General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle and Air Brakes endorsements; pass a regulated drug screen AFTER obtaining a CLP; successfully complete an approved Class B CDL Theory Course (as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Administration???s Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Regulation) and be registered on the FMCSA???s Training Provider Registry.

    This theory course is required for drivers seeking to obtain a Class A, or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or upgrade from a Class B to a Class A CDL, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT). This course is a prerequisite to the Class A and Class B Behind-the-Wheel course(s). Students must successfully complete this Theory course, including passing the required written assessment (exam) with an overall minimum score of 80%, and be registered on the FMCSA???s Training Providers Registry (TPR). This course can also be offered in a modified format to meet an employer contracted training needs.

    Provides experienced Class A or Class B licensed drivers (with or without manual transmission and/or trailer-backing experience) with the necessary retraining to qualify and safely operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle they may not have driven over an extended period of time. This course also provides training for an experienced Class B licensed driver to upgrade to a Class A Commercial Driver???s License (CDL). This course operates on an "as needed" or contract basis. Please note that students who wish to upgrade to a Class A CDL must: currently hold a valid Class B license and obtain their CDL Class A Learner???s Permit (CLP) with General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle and Air Brakes endorsements, pass a physical exam or possess a current Medical Examiner???s Certificate, pass a regulated drug screen and register with the Federal Drug Testing Clearinghouse, successfully complete an approved CDL Class A/B Theory program (as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Administration???s Entry Level Driver Training Regulation) and be registered on the FMCSA???s Registry. Students wanting CDL Class A or Class B REFRESHER training must complete the same prerequisites as UPGRADE training EXCEPT completing the CDL Class A/B Theory course/exam IF they currently hold a valid CDL for the class of vehicle they intend to operate. Expired or suspended licenses are NOT ELIGIBLE for Refresher training.

    The is a hands on course designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to gain entry-level employment, where their CDL is a secondary requirement, such as a CDL inspector or mechanic or the skills needed to obtain/pass their commercial driver's license test. Students must: be 18 years of age (21 years is required to haul interstate commerce). have a current, valid U.S. driver???s license; per Federal Motor Carrier section 391.11, subpart B Qualifications and Disqualification of Drivers: ??Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signals in the English language, inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records; successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical prior to registering for this class; acquire their CDL Learner???s Permit (General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle AND Air Brakes) prior to registering for this class; register with the Federal Drug Testing Clearinghouse AFTER acquiring their CDL Learner???s Permit. The student will be required to sign a consent form to allow HACC to query them in the Federal Drug-Testing Clearinghouse to ensure that they have not failed or refused a drug screen; and, have successfully completed a DOT Regulated Drug Screen AFTER they have acquired their CDL Learner???s Permit.

    This course is designed for existing commercial drivers and consists of both online training modules and hands-on training in industry specific equipment. The course provides training in the fundamentals of concrete, incuding handling and transportation, as well as, hands-on training using industry specific equipment.
