    Covers powered industrial truck safety features and requirements, vehicle operations, vehicle stability, loading and unloading, and driving rules and regulations. Other topics covered include surface and environment conditions, operator inspections and maintenance, load compositions, and common hazards. This training satisfies the OSHA Safety requirement for classroom training. Successful completion of this course results in a Forklift Certificate, However, students must also choose one or more vehicles for practical operator skills before they are licensed.

    This course will cover the basics of working in today's exciting and fast-paced logistics industry. From warehousing to shipping and distribution centers, logistics shaping the world we live and work in, and this class will help prepare students to enter this growing field. Students will spend time in both the classroom and the warehouse learning the essentials of logistics: safety and ergonomics, inventory management, procurement and receiving operations, stocking, order fulfillment, packaging, shipping and transportation, as well as material handling and equipment. Students will also receive hands- on training, practice, and certification in industrial truck and forklift operation 4 different types of lifts: sit down forklift, order picker , electric walkie pallet jack, and the high reach.

    Prepares individuals for the General Knowledge, Air Brake and Combination Vehicle portions of the CDL Class A Permit exam administered at their respective State's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) location. Topics of discussion include: Restrictions, different systems, air production, parts, dual air brake systems and mechanics, with an overall content review.

    Provide a course of study to prepare students seeking to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver???s License (CDL) or upgrade from Class B to a Class A CDL, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Prerequisite requirement for Class A or Class B CDL hands-on training includes: complete the CDL Theory A/B module by successfully passing the required written assessment (exam) with a minimum score of 80%, must be 18 years of age or older; possess a DOT Medical Examiner certificate; obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) with General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle and Air Brakes endorsements; pass a regulated drug screen AFTER obtaining a CLP, and be registered on the FMCSA???s Training Providers Registry

This course includes both classroom and hands-on training. Forklift certification must be obtained every three years.

    Explores the uses of the Internet and the World Wide Web in business. Students learn to accomplish tasks with common Web tools and services. An introduction to Web page design and development is included using HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and free editors. Students develop an online portfolio site that may be used through-out their college career. Prerequisite: Eligibility for enrollment into ENGL 101 and completion of ENGL 057 or a combination of ENGL 003, or 007 and 051 with a grade of C or higher (if required by the College Placement and Testing program). Word processing skills and the ability to receive and send email attachments is recommended.
