Prerequisites: Firefighter II (IFSAC or Pro-Board), Fire Instructor I, current Hazardous Materials Operations Certification (IFSAC or Pro Board) or yearly training and ICS 200-Basic ICS (or equivalent).     This educational course will train the high school students will be trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities of the release. They shall have sufficient training or have had sufficient experience to objectively demonstrate competency to understand what hazardous substances are, the risks, potential outcomes, the ability to recognize and identify their presence, their role including site security, safe scene management and how to use the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) Emergency Response Guidebook during a hazardous materials/WMD emergency.     This 40 hour course teaches the fire fighter about adult learning, teaching techniques, preparation of instructional objectives and development of lesson plans to meet those objectives. Various forms of audio visual aids will be demonstrated and each student will develop and present a teaching lesson. Prerequisites: Interior Fire Fighter and five years of experience in the fire service.
