    This course consists of a three-week session involving detailed planning and preparations for an oceanographic research cruise of approximately eight days, actual execution of the cruise plan aboard an ocean research vessel, and data-processing and reporting of the cruise results. Shipboard sampling techniques and instrumentation used by biological oceanographers are introduced.
