The focus of this course is to provide an opportunity for the student to learn about the developmental health needs of children and their families. Current trends and nursing skills are stressed regarding the physical and emotional needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, school-age children, adolescents, and the families. Growth and development of the child and the family are discussed. Nursing care of relevant pathological conditions is derived through the application of critical thinking and the nursing process.
