    The MBA Outcomes Assessment course is a zero-credit course. This course documents the College of Business' outcomes assessment policies #4310 for all MBA students. This policy states that all students enrolled in degree programs in the College of Business are required to fully and cooperatively participate in the outcome assessment activities of the College of Business or its departments. MBA 500 course will consist of two outcomes assessment exams; an entrance exam, which will be administered when students enter the MBA Program, and an exit exam, when students apply for graduation. Student participation in outcomes assessment activities supports compliance with AACSB accreditation standards. The results are collected and used for assessment purposes only.

    Creates an applied learning experience that integrates and expands upon the knowledge learned in the MBA Program. This core course serves as an experiential learning experience and will include either (a) an applied business report, (b) an approved internship, (c) a research paper, or (d) participation in a graduate practicum-approved course. Students are responsible for a written proposal, a final written report/paper of professional quality, and an oral presentation to relevant stakeholders. Graduate students should begin the practicum process at least the semester before they intend to take the course.

    Surveys the development of media in all its forms including television, film, music, social media, video games, print, and more. Explores popular culture as the dominant persuasive influence and the diversity of the human experience as manifested in media to better understand the relationship between media, diversity and social justice.

    Explores the history and foundational principles of emerging media, develops students' media and information literacy knowledge, and prepares them for an expanding technological society. Students will identify and explain media messages through their parts and their relation to each other and demonstrate an understanding of the concepts based on media analysis. The student will apply the media concept to a case or issue and determine its significance, value, and implications.

    Introduces students to common writing genres within the field of mass media. Students will produce a variety of short-form writing pieces, with a focus on proper structure, grammar, word choices, and other conventions of media writing. This is a foundational writing course for Media and Journalism majors, preparing students for more advanced writing later in the program.

    Introduces students to social media and podcasting/videocast theory, technologies, and techniques. The class will explore the role of social media and podcasting/videocasting in contemporary life by producing multiple podcasts/videocasts focusing on oral communication techniques such as organizing text to convey a central message, supporting concepts through in-depth explanations, and delivering the presentation with posture, gestures, eye contact, and the use of the voice to enhance the effectiveness of the oral presentation.

    Introduces students to diverse visual communication messages and development formats from the mass communication perspective. Students will utilize contemporary visual communication technologies to design, develop, and create effective visual communication messages.
